BDS 2 Point & Single Point Bungee Sling – for HK MP5 A5
To support and carry our Walther H&K MP5 A5 .22 Caliber Rimfire Carbine when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Since it is a carbine we decided to add a sling that could be used as either a 1-point or a 2-point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a small caliber carbine are: 1) configurable for both 1 and 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. Since we wanted a sling that could attach to the firearm’s A2 stock strap channel, or could attach using HK-style hooks, we purchased the BDS 2 Point & Single Point Bungee Sling. The 1 1/8” wide 1000D nylon dual bungee sling comes with 2 HK-style hooks, 2 quick-release straps for connecting to sling swivels, a single point sling adapter for guns without any sling loops, a built-in quick adjust strap and a shoulder pad. In single point configuration the sling adjusts from 22" to 32". In 2-point configuration it adjusts from 37" to 56". We really like the ability to piece together the parts that you need for a specific configuration. This sling is also unbelievably inexpensive compared to some of the outrageously priced slings on the market today. You can buy this sling at Amazon.

Magpul MS3 Gen2 Convertible Sling – for Uzi
To support and carry our Israel Military Industries (IMI) Model "B" Uzi - 9mm Carbine when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Since it is a carbine we decided to add a sling that could be used as either a 1-point or a 2-point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a folding stock pistol caliber carbine are: 1) configurable for both 1 and 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. To meet our needs we bought a Magpul MS3 Gen2 Convertible Sling. This 1 1/4" wide nylon webbing sling was specifically designed to allow you to make a fast transition between one-point and two-point configurations using symmetrical paraclip shackles that also have a cross-bolt lock bar that allows you to lock the lever closed for extra security. The sling also has a low-profile adjustment slider to add or remove sling tension in two-point mode with a single hand. We really like how quickly you can change the sling from its 1-point to its 2-point configuration. The sling is a little pricey – but seems to be worth it. You can buy this sling at Cabela’s.

The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a short range pistol caliber carbine are: 1) configurable for both 1 and 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. Front Sling Adapter for Short Range Pistol Caliber Carbine

Ergo Grips Sling Swivel Mount - Picatinny Rail Aluminum Black 4293 – for 995TS
Because our 995TS did not come with a front swivel mount for a sling we needed to add one to support the Magpul MS3 Gen2 Convertible Sling that we purchased for it. The criteria that we use to evaluate front sling adapters for a short range pistol caliber carbine are: 1) fit on the 995TS’s Weaver rail, 2) strength, 3) durability, 4) material used for construction and 5) price. To fit this situation we bought the Ergo Grips Sling Swivel Mount. The mount is a standard front .223 Remington sling loop on a machined and anodized rail mount. The mount slides onto the rail and then attaches with one nylon tipped set screw. Since the 995TS ha a Weaver rail and this mount was made for a Picatinny rail we had to push it on with a fair amount of pressure, but it was not that hard and once it was on it has worked as planned. You can buy this front sling adapter at Amazon..

Rear Stock Sling Adapter for Short Range Pistol Caliber Carbine

Blackhawk 70SA00BK Single Point Sling Adapter Black with D Rings – for 995TS
Because our 995TS did not come with a back swivel mount for a sling we needed to add one to support the Magpul MS3 Gen2 Convertible Sling that we purchased for it. The criteria that we use to evaluate rear sling adapters for a short range pistol caliber carbine are: 1) fit on the 995TS’s rear stock, 2) strength, 3) durability, 4) material used for construction and 5) price. Since the 995TS’s rear stock isn’t really setup for a sling swivel, we decided to add an adapter strap to the firearm. We bought a Blackhawk 70SA00BK Single Point Sling Adapter Black with D Rings. The heavy duty nylon webbing adapter wraps around the neck of the stock allowing you to connect onto the metal "D" rings. Although not the most elegant solution, the 995TS is a pretty ugly gun (in a good way), so this seemed to be a solution that fir the firearm perfectly. You can buy this rear sling adapter eBay.

Parker Mountain Machine Front QD Sling Mount – for CZ Scorpion
Although the CZ Scorpion comes with mounting locations that allow you to attach a "Mash Hook" or a "KeyRing" style Sling mount we wanted to use a Quick Disconnect (QD) sling on the firearm. Luckily there are aftermarket parts for the Scorpion carbine that allowed us to do this. The criteria that we use to evaluate front QD sling mounts for pistol caliber carbine are: 1) fit on Scorpion's frame, 2) strength, 3) durability, 4) material used for construction and 5) price. After looking at the options we purchased a Parker Mountain Machine front QD sling mount for the left side of the firearm. The sling mount is machined out of 6061 aluminum then hardcoated per military standards in a 8625 type 3 class 2 industry standard hardcoat in black or FDE. They come with either a mutli-position locking detent or the 360 degree rotating feature and installation is farily simple using the factory M4 frame bolt holes with no weapon modification. The front QD mount weighs .21oz. You can buy this front sling adapter at parkermountainmachine.com.

The 1 1/4" wide nylon webbing sling was specifically designed to allow you to make a fast transition between one-point and two-point configurations with two heavy-duty push-button QD Sling Swivels and a custom steel connection ring. The MS4 Dual QD sling also incorporates a new low profile quick-adjust Slider which minimizes bulk and allows for easy and secure sling adjustment. For commonality’s sake we bought the same sling for both of our Colt ARs; the BluCollarTactical Patriot Model 2 Point Rifle Sling. This sling is made of 1.25 inch “tube webbing” that is stronger and smoother than a single piece of flat webbing. Since this is a rifle (as opposed to a carbine) we chose to add a standard 2 point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a pistol caliber multi-shot rifle are: 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. For our AR platforms we don’t really need anything too sophisticated, so we just went with a standard sling. For commonality’s sake we bought the same sling for all three of our AR platforms; the Standard Stag Arms Silent Sling. BluCollarTactical 2 Point Rifle Sling Patriot Model – for Colt R6550
To support and carry our Colt R6550 when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. CombatHunting AK-47/MAK-90 Sling – for Norinco MAK-90
To support and carry our Norinco MAK-90 when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Since this rifle has the standard AK-47 fixed sling mount at the front of the handguard and vertical supports in the skeletonized Choate butt stock we chose to add a standard AK 2 point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a large caliber multi-shot rifle are: 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. Because of the configuration of the MAK-90 we couldn’t have anything too sophisticated, so we just went with a standard AK sling; in this case the AK-47/MAK-90 sling from combathunting.com (AAKSB). This black sling (as opposed to the standard OD green AK sling) is made of 1.25 inch flat heavy duty cotton canvas webbing. The sling has a maximum length of 38” (42” if you include the 2 sling tabs), has two adjustable heavy duty leather sling tabs made specifically to fit AK’s and is adjustable in length so that you can make it fit you and your firearm. Two Point Quick Attach Sling for Lever Action Shotgun

Outdoor Connection Super Sling 2 with Talon Swivels – for Henry .410
Although we do not use a sling on our Henry .410 bore shotgun very often, we wanted to have a sling for those times when we might want to carry the firearm over our shoulder while we were walking or had our arms full carrying other things. Since this is a shotgun (as opposed to a carbine) we chose to add a standard 2 point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for shotguns are 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. Luckily the Henry .410 (20” barrel; model H018-410R) came with swivel stud sling mounts already attached on both the forearm and the butt stock – so all we had to do was find a sling that we liked and some swivels. We looked at several possible sling and swivel combinations (to include the Grovtec HGTSW01 swivels that Henry recommends and sells on their HenryPride.com website), and we ultimately purchased the Outdoor Connection Super Sling 2 with Talon Swivels because it was a single package that included both the sling and two quick attach swivels. This sling is 1 1/4" wide, adjustable to between 27” and 33 ½” long, is constructed from Mil-Spec nylon webbing and has an integral thumb-loop to allow for one-handed adjustments. A couple of cautions about this sling: 1) it is a short sling with a maximum length of 33 ½” (as compared to other slings we own that range between 38” and 70” in length) – so you may not be able to effectively use it on many firearms, and 2) the swivels are not Quick Disconnect (QD) swivels – they are swivels that require you to push a stem that forces the retaining pin out of the swivel and then rotate the pin away from the latch to release them. For our purposes on the Henry .410 shotgun neither of these items was an issue for us given the overall length of the firearm (40½“) and how we planned to use the sling. However, if you have a longer firearm, or have a need for QD functionality, you might want to look at other options. If you would like to see a YouTube video of how to adjust the Super Sling 2 you can find one here. If you want to see how the Talon swivels function you can see a YouTube video of that here. You can buy this sling at Amazon.

Outdoor Connection Max-Ops Edge Two-Point Tactical Sling – for Benelli SuperNova
To support and carry our Benelli SuperNova 12 Gauge Tactical Pump when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Like our AR rifles we decided to add a 2-point sling, but in this case we wanted one with a little bounce to is since it was supporting a shotgun. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a shotgun are: 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. For our Benelli we purchased an Outdoor Connection Max-Ops Edge Two-Point Tactical Sling. This sling is 1" wide and adjustable between 45" and 58" to allow you to adjust the overall length of the sling for rapid transitions from your strong side to your support side and to your back. The sling has an 800 pound laboratory certified tensile strength. Although this is not a “combat quality” sling, we aren’t in combat – so this fit our needs perfectly. You can buy this sling at midwayusa.com.

Sling Swivel for Tactical Pump Shotgun

Midwest Industries Rail Mount Sling Adapter with Quick Detach Sling Swivel (MCTAR-08) – for Benelli SuperNova
Because our Benelli SuperNova did not come with a front swivel mount for a sling we needed to add one to support the Outdoor Connection Max-Ops Edge Two-Point Tactical Sling that we purchased for it. The criteria that we use to evaluate sling swivels for a shotgun are: 1) fit on the Nordic Components Mag Extension Tube Barrel Clamp with Picatinny Tac Rail, 2) strength, 3) durability, 4) material used for construction and 5) price. Since we already had other Midwest Industries sling swivels we purchased the Midwest Industries Rail Mount Sling Adapter with Quick Detach Sling Swivel (MCTAR-08). The only real difference between this and our other sling mounts was that this swivel has a quick detach (QD) head. The MI swivel fit the clamp rail perfectly and the combined sling/swivel setup was exactly what we had envisioned. You can buy this sling swivel at midwayusa.com.

FireForce Franchi Law-12 2 Point Combat Sling (8302-FR) - for Franchi Law-12
To support and carry our Franchi Law-12 when it was not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Since this is a shotgun (as opposed to a carbine) we chose to add a standard 2 point sling. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for shotguns are 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) quality and 6) price. For our Franchi shotguns we don’t really need anything too sophisticated, but they require specific mounting attachment hardware due to the attachment points on the firearms. To meet our needs we bought the FireForce Franchi LAW-12 2 Point Combat Sling (8302-FR). This sling is 1 1/4" wide, 53" long, is constructed from nylon webbing, reinforced with Box Stitch and double rivets and has a fully adjustable with tri-slide buckle. Rear Stock Sling Adapter for Tactical Semi-Auto Shotgun

Blackhawk 70SA00BK Single Point Sling Adapter Black with D Rings – for Franchi Law-12
Because our Franchi Law-12 uses a plastic rear swivel drum that can break for the butt stock sling attachment point, we decided to add a different way to attach the sling to the firearm. The criteria that we use to evaluate rear sling adapters for a semi-auto shotgun are: 1) fit on the Law-12’s rear stock, 2) strength, 3) durability, 4) material used for construction and 5) price. As with our 995TS, we decided to add an adapter strap to the firearm’s stock. We bought a Blackhawk 70SA00BK Single Point Sling Adapter Black with D Rings. The heavy duty nylon webbing adapter wraps around the throat of the stock allowing you to connect onto the metal "D" rings. Although not the most elegant solution, to protect the plastic swivel drum this seemed like a good solution. You can buy this rear sling adapter on eBay.

Midwest Industries Rail Mount Sling Adapter with Quick Detach Sling Swivel (MCTAR-08) – for Benelli M2
Although the Benelli M2 comes with a front mount for a sling we decided to add a front swivel so that our M2 had the same setup as our SuperNova. Two Point Quick Adjust Sling for Tactical Semi-Auto Magazine-fed Shotgun

FireForce V-Force Quick Adjust Tactical Sling with Spring Loaded Cam Buckle – for Panzer Arms AR-12 Pro
To support and carry our Panzer Arms AR-12 12 Gauge magazine-fed shotgun when it is not being actively fired we decided to add a sling to our setup. Like our AR rifles we decided to add a 2-point sling, but in this case we wanted one that was easy to adjust since it was supporting a magazine-fed shotgun. The criteria that we use to evaluate slings for a shotgun are: 1) configurable for 2 points, 2) width, 3) length, 4) attachment method, 5) adjustability, 6) quality and 7) price. For our AR-12 we purchased a FireForce V-Force Quick Adjust Tactical Sling. This sling is 1" wide and was specifically designed for AR15/M4 type rifles. The sling is made of heavy duty Type XIV Military Nylon Webbing and has a cam buckle made to military specifications with an aluminum base, zinc cam flap, solid stainless steel rivet and stainless steel spring. It also comes with all steel Mil-Spec triple-bar adjusters and a Velcro strap-lock to retain the loose pull strap. The release strap on the cam buckle is made from knotted 550 paracord so that it is easily distinguishable from the rest of the sling. All of this allows for quick adjustments for any shooting position. The overall length of the sling strap is ~75". When setup for the Panzer Arms AR-12 (using the firearm’s front sling and butt stock mounts), the sling length is 55 1/2" with 5 1/2" overlapped through the front adjusters and 13 1/2" overlapped through the rear adjusters.
